The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, has blamed the power outage in the five states of its coverage, namely Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states, on the national grid’s total system collapse.

EEDC head, Corporate Communications, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, who confirmed the blackout in the five states, said the national grid collapsed in the early hours of Thursday, leading to loss of power supply across its network.

Ezeh, however assured that the Enugu Disco was on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN’s National Control Centre in Osogbo, Osun State.
