A POEM
She gazed at the rising dawn,
Whose beauty has been overridden and tainted,
By dark billows of carbon particles.
Gone are the days when the brilliant sun proudly lit the skies.
Oh the freshness of the morning dew is gone!
She coughed and sneezed again.
See the dark stains on her once white handkerchief.
Breathing has become difficult.
Yet the lure for the pipelines carrying liquid gold remains.
Irresistibly her children are drawn to the pipelines.
Cooking and scooping from large pots.
Shuffling feets, oblivion of the impending darkness.
In quick flashes of scorching light and fire
Fleshes are consumed, hopeless cries stiffled
Great destinies are painfully lost forever!
