TotalEnergies Extends Contract for DeepSea Mira Rig in West Africa.
TotalEnergies has exercised an option to extend its contract with Northern Ocean for the use of the DeepSea Mira semi-submersible rig, securing the rig’s operations in West Africa for an additional three months.
The extension, which adds approximately 65 to 93 days to the firm term of the contract, is expected to generate an additional revenue backlog of between $27 million and $38 million. This development increases Northern Ocean’s firm contract backlog to an estimated range of $515 million to $545 million.
The DeepSea Mira, built in 2019, is a 6th generation dynamically positioned/anchor-moored semi-submersible drilling rig of Moss Maritime CS60E design. Capable of operating in water depths of up to 3,000 meters, the rig is designed for both benign and harsh environments. It is owned by Northern Ocean and managed by the Norwegian drilling company Odfjell Drilling.
