Dangote Refinery Directly Supplies Petrol to Marketers
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced direct supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to oil marketers in Nigeria. This move is expected to further enhance fuel supply and stability in the country.
While the refinery is ramping up production, several oil marketers have also been actively importing PMS to supplement domestic supply. Recent reports indicate that approximately 123.4 million liters of imported petrol arrived at Nigerian seaports between October 18th and 20th.
This dual approach, combining domestic production and importation, is designed to ensure a steady supply of petrol and mitigate potential shortages. As the Dangote Refinery continues to increase its output, it is anticipated that the reliance on imported fuel will gradually diminish.
The direct supply of petrol from the Dangote Refinery to oil marketers marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s energy sector. This development is expected to have a positive impact on fuel prices and availability, benefiting consumers and businesses across the country.
