Dangote Petroleum Refinery Further Reduces Diesel and Aviation Fuel Prices, Now at N940 and N980 Respectively.
In a bid to provide relief amid economic challenges, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced yet another significant reduction in the prices of diesel and aviation fuel. Effective immediately, customers purchasing five million litres and above will benefit from a price of N940 per litre for diesel, while aviation fuel will be priced at N980 per litre.
This latest reduction closely follows a previous price cut to N1,000 just two weeks ago, which was widely applauded. Mr. Anthony Chiejina, Head of Communication at Dangote Petroleum Refinery, stated that this decision reflects the company’s commitment to alleviating economic hardship in Nigeria.
He also highlighted a strategic partnership with MRS Oil and Gas stations, ensuring that consumers nationwide can access fuel at affordable prices. Diesel will be available for as low as N1,050 per litre and aviation fuel at N980 in major airports where MRS operates.
This collaboration is set to extend to other major oil marketers, aiming to shield retail buyers from facing exorbitant prices. Mr. Chiejina reiterated the Dangote Group’s dedication to improving the welfare of Nigerians, expressing hope that these price adjustments will ease economic challenges.
Remarkably, this marks the third significant reduction in diesel prices within three weeks, signaling a downward trend from N1,700 to N940 per litre. Nigerian President Bola Tinubu previously praised Dangote’s efforts, describing the initial reduction as an “enterprising feat.”
