Customs Bars Officers, Cargo Owners from E-Auction

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has barred its officers and the owners of seized goods from participating in the e-auction planned to begin today.

The NCS stated this in the information it released weekend where it gave details of the e-auction process.

Recall that the NCS last week said that its e-auction portal, which was first launched in July 2017 under the tenure of its former Comptroller General, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), will be reopened today.

“In the upcoming week, the NCS is set to inaugurate an electronic auction (e-auction) platform, strategically designed to enhance transparency in the auction process. These collective actions signify NCS’s dedication to enhancing staff welfare and sustaining optimal performance,” Customs Comptroller-General, Adewale Adeniyi has said during a press briefing in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have called on the NCS to ensure transparency in the e-auction process.
