Clean Energy Illuminates Ife Communities- 1,200 Households Now Have Electricity

CESEL-Conserto Joint Venture (JV) and the Nigerian Electrification Project (NEP) bring light and hope to four Ife communities, delivering clean solar-powered electricity to 1,200 households.

Key Points:

  1. Transformational Impact:
    • CESEL-Conserto JV, with support from the NEP and funding from the World Bank, has successfully provided electricity to previously underserved areas: Osi, Arajoshua, Alutierin, and Olomouja.
    • The project marks a significant milestone in the communities’ development, ending decades of darkness and igniting hope for a brighter future.
  2. Royal Endorsement:
    • His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and other royal figures graced the project’s inauguration, expressing joy and gratitude for the newfound access to electricity.
    • Oba Oladepo Towobola, the Lerinyan of Alutierin, hailed the initiative as a “dawn of development,” while Reverend Bunmi Jenyo, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, described it as a “beacon of hope” for rural communities.
  3. Economic Empowerment:
    • Mr. Olanrewaju Daramola, Chairman of CESEL-Conserto JV, emphasized the project’s potential to stimulate economic activities, particularly benefiting small businesses and farmers.
    • The provision of clean energy aligns with sustainable development goals, fostering environmental responsibility and community prosperity.
  4. Collaborative Success:
    • The project underscores the power of collaboration between public and private entities, with CESEL-Conserto JV, the NEP, the World Bank, and local communities joining forces to bring about positive change.
    • This collaborative model serves as a blueprint for future endeavors aimed at expanding clean energy access nationwide.
  5. Symbol of Progress:
    • The electrification of Ife communities represents a significant step towards a more sustainable and prosperous Nigeria, symbolizing progress, empowerment, and a brighter future for all residents.

The successful implementation of this initiative exemplifies the transformative potential of clean energy solutions in driving socio-economic development and fostering inclusive growth across Nigeria’s rural landscape.
