Rotimi Ensures Nigerians that Tinubu Will Alleviate Current Economic Hardships- Christmas Assurance

Hon. Akin Rotimi, a National Assembly member and Chairman of the Committee on Media and Public Affairs affirmed that the administration led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to alleviating the prevailing challenges faced by Nigerians. This assurance was conveyed as he distributed 3,000 bags of rice to the residents of his Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency.

During the distinct gatherings in Ikole and Oye-Ekiti on Wednesday, Hon. Rotimi revealed that under Tinubu’s administration, there will be a focus on establishing good governance to ensure Nigerians can thrive beyond relying solely on handouts and palliatives.

He mentioned that the distribution of palliatives aims to reach approximately 5,000 households in each constituent, involving leaders from at least 40 different stakeholders across various segments of the constituency.

He emphasized that the distribution occurs in two phases, with the active involvement of all stakeholders. He underscored that his electoral success is attributed to their collective endeavors.

The lawmaker clarified that he facilitated the palliatives via the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, highlighting that this gesture aligns with Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the welfare of the masses.

Rotimi revealed that the gesture was a way of expressing love during the festive season, emphasizing that “Food security and agricultural production are integral components of the agenda of the 10th assembly.”

He said  “We have two different phases; the first phase is here in Ikole, with 2000 bags of rice, and other foodstuffs while the second phase will be happening in Oye, with 1000 bags of rice. In addition to that, we are relatively distributing about 20 million naira.

“All stakeholders are here; nobody is taking it by proxy. There is also a major of accountability we are keeping here. Various stakeholders are here by themselves. This goes a long way in deepening accountability and participatory governance.

“We are trying as much as possible to make it participatory and encompassing of people of different tribes and faiths; my electoral victory is the collective effort of all.” He said.

Discussing President Bola Tinubu’s contributions, he pointed out that the President is addressing the pressure arising from the removal of fuel subsidies by focusing on human capital development to propel Nigerians into progressive positions. He added that the 2024 Budget would tackle essential issues.
