In a statement issued by Esimaje Brikinn, General Manager of Policy, Government and Public Affairs at Chevron Nigeria Limited, the company emphasized: “Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the joint venture between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and CNL – NNPCL/CNL JV – is aware of media reports falsely associating CNL with environmental degradation. CNL reaffirms its commitment to environmental stewardship in its operations in Nigeria.”
Brikinn stated that CNL conducts its operations with robust environmental management practices, adhering strictly to applicable laws and regulatory requirements. He highlighted that CNL places the highest priority on the safety of people and the environment in its operational areas.
