Bridport strengthens governance with 2 new non-exec directors

Bridport Energy has announced the appointment of two new non-executive directors to its board in a bid to strengthen corporate governance and align with best practices.

Both new directors, Engr. Ahmadu-Kida Musa and Alhaji Auwalu A. Ilu bring extensive experience of the Nigerian logistics and oil & gas industries to the company as it prepares to start delivering LNG to the Nigerian market later this year.

With a long career at TotalEnergies, Ahmadu-Kida Musa has over three decades of expertise working in the oil and gas industry. He has participated in numerous onshore and offshore gas projects for TotalEnergies in Nigeria, most recently holding the position of deputy managing director for the company’s deep-water district there.

He serves on the boards of several organizations, including TotalEnergies E&P Nigeria Ltd (TEPNG), Total Upstream Companies Nigeria (TUPNG), and Heirs Oil & Gas Ltd. He is currently the chairman of Ponticelli Nigeria Ltd (PNL).

On the other hand, Mr. Ilu has more than 20 years of expertise in the logistics, maritime, and energy sectors. He served as President of the Nigeria LPG Association before becoming the current CEO of Ultimate Gas, an LPG business he founded in the 1990s. He presently serves on the boards of Stallion Stevedores and Ilutex, two maritime businesses in Nigeria.

Commenting on the new board appointments, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Bridport Energy said, “We are delighted to welcome Engr. Ahmadu-Kida Musa and Mr. Auwalu A.
