Ardova’s New LPG Facility Boosts Nigeria’s Energy Future, Says NMDPRA
Nigeria’s energy infrastructure received a significant boost with the upcoming launch of Ardova Plc’s upgraded Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) facility in Ijora, Lagos. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) commended the development and highlighted its impact on gas supply and accessibility.
Increased Capacity, Enhanced Infrastructure: During a pre-commissioning tour of the facility, NMDPRA chief executive Engr. Farouk Ahmed praised Ardova for adhering to regulations and commended the project’s progress. He emphasized the facility’s impressive safety measures and automation advancements, further positioning it as the largest LPG storage facility in West Africa.
Strategic Importance for Nigeria: Ardova’s Group Executive Chairman, Abdul Sowami, announced the March 2024 operational launch and underscored the terminal’s critical role in ensuring LPG supply security and price stability within Nigeria. He explained that the combined capacity of 30,000 metric tonnes (including their existing Oghara facility) allows for efficient blending and distribution, meeting local standards and supplementing imports if needed.
