Akwa Ibom Governor Advocates Collaboration with NDDC to Enhance Regional Development
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has called for enhanced collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to expedite development in the oil-rich region.
During a meeting with NDDC’s Governing Board chaired by Chiedu Ebie, Governor Eno underscored the state’s dedication to President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” and committed to advancing Akwa Ibom from a “land of promise” to a “land of fulfillment.”

Eno emphasized the importance of aligning NDDC interventions with state government initiatives, criticizing past instances of overlap and insufficient consultation. He urged the commission to:

- Prevent project duplication: Consult with states before initiating projects within their territories.
- Embrace transparency: Operate by the NDDC Act for the betterment of the region.

In response, Ebie assured a new approach grounded in collaboration and transparency. He highlighted:

- Need-based project selection: Prioritizing projects based on identified needs within each state.
