African Energy Chamber Bolsters Advisory Board with Industry Leaders
The African Energy Chamber (AEC) has announced the appointment of three distinguished energy industry leaders to its Advisory Board, aiming to foster growth and sustainable development within Africa’s energy sector.
Among the newly appointed members are Simbi Wabote, Benoit de la Fouchadiere, and John Ngunjiri, who bring a wealth of expertise and experience to the Advisory Board and will serve on committees aligned with their respective fields.
Simbi Wabote, the former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), joins the Local Content Committee. Leveraging his extensive expertise, Wabote will enhance the committee’s effectiveness in steering public and private stakeholders toward African energy projects while prioritizing indigenous businesses and local talents. His deep knowledge of local content development and financing mechanisms will contribute significantly to advancing the committee’s objectives and fostering innovation.
Benoit de la Fouchadiere, the Group General Manager of independent producer Perenco, joins the Exploration and Upstream Committee. With his extensive leadership experience and role in stabilizing and expanding the African oil market, Fouchadiere will strengthen the committee’s capabilities in identifying and capitalizing on exploration opportunities, both offshore and onshore.
John Ngunjiri, known for his international project management experience, joins the Legal and Regulatory/Policy Affairs Committee. His expertise in contract negotiation, engineering management, and legal proficiency aligns perfectly with the committee’s role in navigating complex regulatory frameworks, promoting transparency and efficiency in projects, and advocating for a competitive energy market across Africa.
