Africa Energy investment Outlook to hold at Addleshaw Goddard in London

15 October 2024

Eventhive, a global B2B event servicing company, has announced its partnership with Addleshaw Goddard to co-host  Africa Energy Investment Outlook in London on the 24th October.

Africa Energy Investment Outlook will bring together more than 200 senior energy executives, government representatives, investors and other stakeholders in Africa’s energy sector to discuss a range of topics, including energy finance, mining in Africa, African gas, renewable energy and other relevant topics

Africa’s role in the global energy mix is increasingly significant, both in terms of its energy resources and its emerging role in global energy markets. The continent accounts for about 7-9 percent of global oil production and around 7 percent of global natural gas production. Africa also has substantial renewable energy potential, particularly in solar and wind, with renewables accounting for about 17-20 percent of the continent’s electricity generation. However, achieving the evident potential that the continent carries will require addressing significant challenges related to infrastructure, financing, and governance.

The packed agenda for Africa Energy Investment Outlook includes keynote speeches, panel discussions and other conversation and networking opportunities for attendees. Confirmed speakers include Ashwin Punde (Managing Director, Energy and Energy Transition, Standard Chartered Bank), Sameh Shenouda (Executive Director/Chief Investment Officer, Africa Finance Corporation, Jeremy Low (Managing Director, Head of Oil and Gas, Houlihan Lokey), Rachel More-Oshodi (CEO, ARM Harith Infrastructure Investment), Olakunle Williams, CEO, Tetracore Energy Group and more.

Speaking ahead of the event, Jamiu Ijaodola, CEO and founder of Eventhive, said, “We are excited to host the Africa Energy Investment Outlook in London to explore pathways for collaboration, ensuring that Africa plays a pivotal role in shaping the world’s energy landscape for generations to come. As Africa positions itself at the forefront of the global energy transition, this event will provide valuable insights into the continent’s potential as a hub for renewable energy, critical minerals and sustainable development.”
