Additionally, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of Access Holdings, received the Titan of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the industry.

The award ceremony, held at Eko Hotels & Suites in Lagos, marked the 30th anniversary of THISDAY Newspapers and the 12th anniversary of Arise News Channel. Recognized for its leadership in digital banking, Access Bank also secured the 2024 Digital Jurist Award for Best Digital Bank and the Euromoney Award for Best Bank for ESG in Nigeria and Ghana. With an expanding international presence in the UK, UAE, China, and several African nations, the bank continues to push boundaries in financial technology, highlighted by initiatives such as Facepay, Access Closa, the AccessMore app, and Africa Fintech Foundry.

Accepting the award, Managing Director and CEO Roosevelt Ogbonna expressed gratitude to THISDAY, Arise Media Group, and the bank’s stakeholders. “This award represents 30 years of dedication, innovation, and the enduring legacy of leaders like Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede and Herbert Wigwe,” he stated.

Aig-Imoukhuede, honored alongside 11 other influential figures, reflected on his journey, recalling a prophetic moment from 1991 when THISDAY’s founder, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, predicted his rise to banking leadership. “I am grateful to stand among such esteemed colleagues,” he remarked.

The star-studded event brought together leaders from business, politics, and finance, celebrating excellence and resilience in a challenging global landscape.
