Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has studied Nigeria’s Social Investment Programme in order to implement same to alleviate poverty in their country.
A delegation from Congo, led by the Chief of Staff, Ministry of Social Inclusion DRC, Prof John Mugabushaka, said they requested for a study tour in Nigeria going by the success it achieved in reaching out to the poorest of the people.

Prof Mugabushaka said Nigeria is making the right decision in poverty alleviation by reaching out to the poorest of its citizen in the rural areas.
While noting that their visit was best learning opportunity for them to prepare to undertake the programmes for the development of their country, he said their field trip to Kogi State was an eye opener as they are able to gather information at first hand.

Responding the Special Adviser to the president on Social investment Maryam Uwais said the federal government in order to improve the living standard of millions of Nigerians across the country set up the social investment programme, which include Home Grown School Feeding, Conditional Cash Transfer, Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) and N-Power.
She promised to share documents with the delegation and connect them to other government officials to assist them map out their poor people in different province.
